Mrs. Gough and her students came to teach our 3rd graders through dissecting crayfish. Some of the students were intrigued, while others were disgusted. Do you ever remember dissecting anything during your school days? We'd love to hear about your memories!

Mrs. Ray's 3rd graders practiced their UFLI words by playing a game of Sparkle. This game helps students practice spelling and listening skills. What a fun way to practice!

Virginia made the most out of her inside recess time. She decided to measure how big her classroom was. She made a row of blocks from one side of the classroom to the other. She counted, and her classroom is 62 blocks wide! Nice job Virginia!

Earlier this week, our Kindergartners encountered a problem at recess. The basketball net was frozen! They all worked together and tried their best to solve the problem.

Congratulations to Kennedy Shilling for winning the Claypool Spelling Bee, and to Emilia Bueno who was Runner Up! Both will attend the district Spelling Bee at the end of the month. We appreciate the hard work and effort from all of our Spelling Bee participants!

Congratulations to Miss Holly and the HeadStart as they won the People's Choice Award in the Holiday Door Decoration Contest! Second place was Mrs. Avery's 3rd grade door, and 3rd place went to Mrs. Miller.

Due to the overwhelming number of candy cane sales, the final day to purchase candy canes will be Thursday, Dec. 21. Sales will be on a first come, first served basis as we are running out of candy canes. We thank you for the amazing support of the student council!

The Claypool Kindergarteners through 3rd graders had a dental screening this week. Local members from the dental community came to see if students had any emergent dental needs. Dental health is very important to the overall health and wellbeing of our students.

The Student Council lead the way for our food drive for the Silver Lake Food Pantry. As a school, we collected over 1300 items! Way to go Claypool Knights!

Yesterday our Kindergarteners had a visit from the Warsaw fire department. They learned when to call 9-1-1, how to dial 9-1-1, smoke detectors, and how to EXIT a room where there's smoke.

Mrs. Cooksey's 1st graders' annual pancake breakfast was this morning! They read the story "Pancakes for Breakfast" yesterday. On day 1 they were introduced to new vocabulary words that they needed to use while reading the book that didn’t have words! They also worked on identifying the character's feelings throughout the story. On day 2, they worked on retelling the story, and identified all the problems and solutions. Then, they ended the morning with pancakes!

Mrs. Ray's 3rd grade class designed turkeys and then wrote adjectives to describe them. They also made thankful "pies" where they wrote what they were thankful for on each slice of pie and then illustrated them. What are you doing to get ready for the Holiday?
